Bachelor Artificial Intelligence at UVA

In 2016, I started my bachelors Artificial Intelligence at the University of Amsterdam. I'm interested in AI mainly because of how multidiciplanary it is, focussing both on human perception, cognition and ethical aspects, but also how this can technically be achieved with machines. In my minor slot, I followed courses quite unrelated to AI, just because I had an interest in branching out to some other topics that have my interest - media, history, law and design.

Below you can find some bachelor projects and achievements I'm proud of.

Zoeken, Sturen en Bewegen: Guitar Robot2018

In a group of four, we created a self-playing guitar robot from lego mindstorms for the course Zoeken, Sturen en Bewegen. The robot was prototyped and programmed to play power chords with a tab-file as input. My role in the project was building the prototype out of Legos, and tweaking the code to make the robot move correctly.

Intergamma Outlier Detection2018

In 2018 I followed Leren en Beslissen, where we worked together with the company Intergamma to find a way of finding outliers within their product specifications. Intergamma is a major company in The Netherlands, mainly specialized in furniture and home improvement products. Because filling in of product specifications on their websites is manual work, it is possible mistakes are made and product properties have unrealistic values or units. We used many different textual and numerical algorithms for finding outliers and compared their uses. During the project, I was mainly concerned with programming and writing of the final report.
