123inkt May 2020 - August 2023
For over three years, I worked as a software developer at 123inkt, an online retailer specialized in ink cartridges and office supplies. In addition to 123inkt, the IT department manages 25 other websites. Our team operated in agile scrum teams of about six members, focusing on developing new features and optimizing the webshops.
At work, I contributed to the continuous improvement of the website and enhancements to the internal ERP system. My primary tech stack included PHP/Symfony, MySQL, JavaScript (jQuery/TypeScript), CSS, HTML/Twig, along with GitHub, Composer, and npm. Besides development, I took an interest in more process oriented tasks like investigating story impact, effort estimations, requirements engeneering with stakeholders and technical or functional documenting of functionality.
Some of my achievements include implementing Swedish address validation, KvK number verification and enrichment, restructuring order synchronization and validation logic (synchronisation between the website and ERP system), and introducing many new international shipping methods.
I especially appreciated the company’s open and collaborative culture, where direct communication and accessibility were highly valued. The flat organizational structure made teamwork efficient and enjoyable.
Telefoto June 2016 - May 2019
Starting in 2016, I worked at Telefoto for three years, a physical and online photography store specializing in cameras, photo frames, batteries, (instant) film, and lenses. My main responsibilities included managing and updating inventory, writing and editing product descriptions and details, implementing competitive price adjustments, and optimizing product pages on the website for SEO. On my own initiative, I partially automated my tasks by developing a Python script to regularly retrieve stock data for dropship items.
Private Tutor for Maths and Science Courses Feb. 2015 - Jun. 2017
During high school, I started tutoring peers of VWO, HAVO and VMBO level in maths (A and B), physics and chemistry. In total, I tutored 7 students over the years, of which some regularly and others more sporadically.
